National Heritage Awards Concert 2007

WDUQ-FM, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is again offering the free, two-hour National Heritage Awards Concert as a Thanksgiving Day or Holiday special.

The National Heritage Fellowships are presented by the National Endowment for the Arts to folk and traditional artists who have demonstrated the highest artistic achievements in their respective disciplines. Initiated in 1982, by then director of the NEA Folk & Traditional Arts Program Bes Lomax, the Fellowships honor artists who have made significant contributions to the cultural heritage of the United States.

Hosted by Nick Spitzer of American Routes, the concert features outstanding representatives of their respective art forms. Appalachian, Klezmer, and more - from the stage of the Music Center at Strathmore, Bethesda, MD.
