Helen Wigger
Operations Manager / Jazz Host
Helen Wigger has been DUQ's Operations Manager since 1997. Her duties include overseeing the day-to-day presentation of DUQ's programming, operating and maintaining the station's traffic system, assisting with billing functions, and supervising full and part-time air staff. She also hosts the mid-day jazz shift.
Helen came to Pittsburgh from WUKY-FM in Lexington, Kentucky where she had been the Operations Manager since 1990. She previously worked for several other radio stations in Kentucky, including WEKU, WEKH, WHIR, WMGE and WKXO. In these positions, she worked not only in operations but also in promotions and as an announcer, producer and music director.
A native of Springfield, Ohio, Helen is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. She resides in Beechview, and enjoys spending her free time with friends, traveling, being outdoors, listening to music, and sports.
