National Productions Director

 

Since 1989, Mark Yacovone has overseen DUQ's national and international radio productions and distribution. These radio projects include: Finland Festivals, Jazz at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild, the National Heritage Awards Concert, the Lowell Folk Festival, the International Poetry Forum, and the Belfast Festival at Queen's. Through these efforts, DUQ has coordinated projects in the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom and Latin America.

 

Financial support for these special programs has been provided by a variety of public and private sources, such as the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland - Helsinki, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.

 

Highlights include representing DUQ at such venues as The Kennedy Center, the White House and the Embassy of Finland.

 

Mark is an award winning broadcast producer who has also produced commercial discs for such labels as Smithsonian/Folkways and CRI. He lectures on strategies and methodologies for arts and humanities grants. Prior to joining DUQ, Mark was a producer with WQED Pittsburgh. He was also a grants officer at the Prince George's Arts Council in Maryland.
