Connected Ecigarette Kosmo has been recently launched in its Indiegogo campaign by its team of developers based in Paris. It was a device developed in an aim to help vapers know if they are actually vaping more than they used to smoke.
The idea first came after Kosmo’s co-founder Ylann Wajsbrot’s brother started using the ecigarette. Connected Ecigarette Kosmo is supposed to help people in controlling their habits with real data. The selling point of this product is that it comes with an app.
Wajsbrot said that many people now use their phones for many things. There are about 15 million app downloads each year for smoke cessation apps. There is the Quitbit lighter that can track cigarette consumption. There is also the Smokio Bluetooth ecig. Smokio is also a connected ecig, but cannot track and provide instant feedback on the amount of vaping of a user and cannot provide a coaching experience.
Kosmo Coaching Experience
Wajsbrot mentioned about a recent study that showed 71% of people using ecigs aim to quit their smoking habit. The unique coaching experience from Kosmo is the custom reduction program that can be created with a daily cap that gradually decreases. There are also social features that allow friends to be accountable with one another.
Most people stop using app after three weeks. The device is meant for longer lifespan. It was designed with SmartLight that gives instant feedback on how much a person is vaping. There is no need for a phone to track one’s usage once the reduction plan is created.
The instant feedback involves multi-colored LED on the Kosmo that will change color so you would know about your vaping habit. Orange LED glow indicates that you have smoked only an equivalent of your regular cigarette consumption while the Cherry red light means you have smoked too much.
According to Wajsbrot, they are big believers in lean hardware movement that emphasizes on the reduction of product development cuycle waste and early demand. Through the Indiegogo campaign, a strong community could be put behind the product and provide developers with upfront capital for manufacturing.
This month is scheduled for certification and production. August is for Production. September is for shipping the first batch.
