Bee Barnett

Membership Assistant

Bee Barnett joined the DUQ Membership Department in 1998 as a student aide. She was hired as Membership Assistant in 2000. As a part of the Membership Department, Bee works to grow listener enthusiasm into member support. She is responsible for many of the non-broadcast aspects of the on-air membership campaigns, such as coordinating volunteers. When she is not helping to plan the campaigns, Bee handles everything from fielding questions and pledges from the Member Hotline to signing up businesses for the Q-Card discount program.

Bee's knowledge of swing music makes her an asset to DUQ's Rhythm Sweet & Hot show. She contributes interviews and production assistance to the show.

In April 2000, Bee earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Political Science and Communication/Rhetoric. She graduated magna cum laude and was a columnist and reporter for The Pitt News.

Bee is an avid amateur guitarist. She lives in the Friendship section of Pittsburgh.
